Three years into her battle with rheumatoid arthritis, there were days when getting out of bed was nearly impossible. Celia was devastated when her swollen fingers prevented her from wearing jewelry. During this time, she discovered her passion for high-quality fashion jewelry. She realized that, without the investment in solid gold, fashion jewelry is beautiful and can be more artistic. These challenging days inspired her to create Di Sorella, giving her a reason to get up and pursue something she loved.

As a mother to three daughters and one of three sisters, Celia chose the name "Di Sorella," referencing Italian for sisters.
